How to Improve Your Health With Hammocks
By Jonathan Gal
Have you ever wondered why it feels so good to lie there, suspended,
almost weightless, swaying or swinging... on nothing but a net? What draws us
to the hammock as the ultimate simplistic resting device that we cannot live
with out? Well, it has to do with body over mind, and our bodies know exactly
what they want and need when they feel it. If you have never been in a hammock,
it is an absolute must on your immediate to-do list. If you have, and know of
what I speak, then let's talk about the health benefits of hammocks, and why
you have this constant urge to set one up in your bedroom.
“si nunca ha
disfrutado de una hamaca, es algo que debe agregar de manera inmediata en su
lista de cosas por hacer. Si ya lo ha hecho, y sabe de lo que estoy hablando, déjeme
entonces contarle sobre los beneficios para la salud de las hamacas, y el
porqué de esa constante urgencia de instalar una en su habitación.”
As a matter of ergonomics, there is simply no better way to rest the
entire body, head to toe, than by using a hammock. At 9 months or 90 years old,
from 50 pounds to 500, everyone can improve the quality of their lives with the
use of this swinging, twirling, netted apparatus. The Mexican peoples have
hammock hooks installed all through their houses, and use them for daybed and
sleepers for their babies, which is safe under constant supervision. Why?
Because one of the health benefits of hammocks is that the swaying, lilting
action that they provide stimulates the cerebral activity in the brain.
“uno de los
beneficios para la salud de las hamacas es que el balanceo, la acción cadenciosa
permiten estimular la actividad cerebral”
What does that mean? That means that swinging in a hammock improves a
person's ability to focus and concentrate, while at the same time relaxing the
brain's overall activity. This is scientifically proven as invaluable therapy
for those suffering autism, or even just those who have trouble with reading
and comprehension. That's right, hammocks are being sold by medical suppliers
as therapy devices prescribed by doctors and psychologists. The health benefits
of hammocks don't stop there, in fact that's only the beginning.
“hamaquiarce mejora
la capacidad de una persona para enfocar y concentrarse, y al mismo tiempo es una
actividad relajante para el cerebro”
This reduced brain activity is a powerful stress reduction tool. As the
brain slows, the stress throughout the body releases, and the blood pressure
drops considerably as a result. So, while your inner body relaxes and
rejuvenates, the health benefits of sitting on the hammock stand go to
work on the physical body as well. When resting in a hammock, the weight of
your body is evenly distributed throughout, sort of like floating in water,
only you don't have to paddle or kick. The vertebrae stretch and settle back
into their natural positions, the neck and tail bone align, and you are
entranced into full meditation of body and mind, effortlessly.
“Al descansar en
una hamaca, el peso de su cuerpo se distribuye de manera uniforme a lo largo de
ella, parecerá flotando en agua, solo que sin tener que nadar”
